Expensive Mistake. Cheap Plastic Cup. Many Design Flaws. Buyer Beware!!
Hello there!! Queen of all things kitchen. I have every kitchen gadget known to man that will make my life easier preparing food in the kitchen. So, when my 600 year old plastic chopper broke I decided that for the amount of food I chop I should invest in a good sturdy model. So I bought this one.
Oh boy. What a huge mistake that was.
First, there are design flaws. The plastic clip on container that is supposed to clip in place doesn't. You are supposed to slip 2 tiny plastic pieces into two slots to secure the cup. Took me 20 minutes to get it in there without snapping off the little plastic pieces. It is difficult to maneuver if you can get it into place at all.
Then you have to use the flimsy plastic cup to hold onto while slicing. That's the only "handle" on this chopper. The base is flat against the counter so you can't grab that.
The base is very sturdy and well made. However, trying to push the newly sliced food into the plastic cup on top is not practical. It jams and applies undo pressure on the cheap plastic cup. Another design flaw.
The one positive comment I will make is the blades are beyong sharp. I cut myself pretty good just holding it under the faucet sprayer in the kitchen sink.
If I could sent this back I would do that immediately! However, I tried to figure out how to make it work and by doing so missed my return window. Huge and costly mistake on my part.
Don't make the same mistake. Do not consider this item.
