I bought this french press in May 2017, so it has lasted me about 1.5 years. Originally I disliked how loose the lid was (you have to hold it down when pouring) but this wasn't a big enough reason for me to send it back as it worked fine. However recently the stainless steel holder detached from the frame (without any drops or maltreatment). It has become unstable since it seems the "glue" failed to hold the encasing together. The glass beaker is very moveable and it is difficult to pour coffee now because it slides out easily. When it happened, the beaker almost slid completely out (full of HOT coffee) and would have caused a very serious BURN injury. The way the casing is made (cheaply, not soldered metal) is very dangerous. I have attached pictures for reference. After a quick read of other people's experiences, I am not the only review about the metal casing coming apart!
