"Consumer" Service at Sevylor / Coleman
I've had the kayak for a year and was fun the couple of times we took it out on the water. Unfortunately, it developed a leak in the left bladder that could not be repaired. I searched for hours on the internet and could not find a replacement bladder available anywhere in the US. However, I found that they are available in the U.K. for around $60. Not cheap, but way better than throwing away a $400 investment. I also found a short video that showed how easy it was to remove the bladder and replace it (assuming you can find one). It took me less than five minutes to remove it, so it was clear that the kayak was specifically designed for easy replacement of the bladder. There are two zippers on the shell - one fore and one aft - that allow access to the bladder and to detach it from the inside of the shell at each end. The Boston valve has a snap ring on it that pops off and allows one to easily complete the removal process. This all made me optimistic, so I checked all over the Sevylor / Coleman website and found nothing. Finally, I made a leap of faith and sent their customer service an email. Four days later I received a very brief response stating "We do not make replacement bladders.". Needless to say, after that blatant lie Coleman & it's subsidiaries have lost this "Consumer".
