Poor design? Shoddy parts? Not sure witch.
I've owned Pur water filters in the past and have enjoyed owning them. I recently moved and was unable to take my filter off the faucet. It wouldn't come off and when I tried getting it off it broke. No biggie. I had gotten a lot of use out of it. I'd just buy a new one I thought. So I purchased a new one. Which admittedly is a different model than the one I had previously owned. It arrived today and I immediately took it out of the box and attached it to my faucet. First thing I noticed was that the adapters included are plastic, not metal. Okay. Not a big deal right? Then I noticed that the filter itself has no threads. It "snaps" into place and only has a weird rubber gasket controlled by two plastic buttons to lock it to the faucet. Umm, weird. But shouldn't be a problem. Until I actually turned the water on. The connection just isn't water-tight. The plastic adapter doesn't seem to be the problem. But the filter itself is wobbly and the gasket isn't secure. I also noticed that the light indicating the filter works only lights up some of the time. I'm not sure if this is just poor design, shoddy parts, or what. But this filter just isn't as good as some of their other models. I'm returning it for a refund and have already ordered a model that looks more like the other one I used to own.
