Purchased these lights earlier this year to string around an awning/canopy I put up in our back yard. Visually, they were perfect - exactly the look we wanted, nice warm glow. Then, about two weeks ago the Santa Ana winds picked up, gusting to 30mph in our area, and following one particularly windy night I discovered that three of the lights had been completely severed from the main line, two others partially severed which had to be cut off. Thankfully, the lights are wired in parallel so the remaining lights work just fine. One would expect lights specifically designed for outdoor use to be a little more durable - occasionally gusting 30mph winds should not be sufficient to sever these lights from the main line, it indicates sub par build quality. But since we were so happy with the actual lighting, I'll probably buy another few strings and just reinforce the 'T' sections with some epoxy or silicone adhesive. PITA, but you get what you pay for. [Update] In the 6 weeks or so since I wrote this review we've lost two more lights, blown right off the mainline by the wind. To those who say these lights are durable, I would say - "relative to what?" I've added a picture of one of the lights that recently blew off so others can see where the weak point is. This is now 7 lights I've lost to wind, each exactly the same way, same place. If you're looking for genuinely durable backyard lighting, keep looking, this product is flawed.
