$36,000 for a manual knee mill made in China?
For that money you can easily purchase a full-blown CNC bed mill with CAT40 spindle. For half that you can purchase a used CNC bed mill with CAT40 spindle. A used Haas VF-2 or VF-3 is 10 times the machine in all respects. Try to fine a video on the Baileigh machine giving it any praise or even a forum that speaks highly of it ... good luck with that!
If you insist on new, look into a Fryer MB14 CNC bed mill. There is absolutely no comparison and yes, the Fryer can be used as a manual machine if CNC controls scare you. Just know that a knee mill is light and is not capable of holding close tolerances nor can it support heavy parts. 3,800 rpm spindle is waaay too slow. Contact your local machine shop for further advice.
