Everything seems nice about this unit. Sure it's plastic and the stick itself creaks when you put your hands on it but as long as it functions, right? Sure I had to open up the stick and apply some Molykote EM-30L plastic grease because there was a bunch of resistance in the twist action. That's fine, right? So what if the plastic ring on the stick needs to be cleaned and re-lubricated every 3 or 4 days to deal with the plastic that grinds off itself, that's not so bad right? Today I noticed one of the buttons on the throttle stopped working if I had the throttle at max. So, I flip it over and open the unit. The quality control at Saitek is awful, I don't know if it's the post Mad Catz buyout or a bad month at the factory or what, but this is heinous quality. Stay away from this X-55. If the thing wasn't so cheap feeling, didn't have a bunch of plastic-on-plastic parts that didn't fit quite perfectly together and didn't have low-quality wires snaking through it this could be a good stick. I like the feel, the buttons, the action. None of this is good at all if the thing breaks.
