Denon released a firmware update in early August to add AirPlay 2 and Auto Low Latency Mode support that completely breaks networking on AVR-S640H models: the receiver gets stuck showing "Assigning..." on the front panel on startup and no network features work. Recovering requires a hard reset to roll back to the previous firmware on the unit, erasing all settings and customization and forcing the user to reconfigure the receiver from scratch. Buggy software and substandard QA let down an otherwise fine receiver.
