While this does heat up (lo-med-hi settings) and so can relieve pain for a low price, if you are able to spend a bit more, I would highly recommend it. This product is about the lowest quality I can imagine. The feel of it is horrible as the plastic is so tough, unmoldable, and uncomfortable to the touch. The wire is also annoyingly impactful on comfort, as it is thick, and likes to coil up on itself, forming an especially large, hard, bump right next to the pad. It comes in an extremely cheap and unattractive pillow case (one side is entirely printed with warnings in English and Chinese) , which keeps sliding off and won't cover the whole plastic casing anyway. There is a piece of thin blue scratchy foam that acts as a sort of padding between the plastic pad and the pillow case, probably so you don't burn yourself if you use the highest heat setting. The blue foam will likely fall out shortly after you start using this heating pad, and won't want to stay in again, because of the way the heating pad itself has started to scrunch itself into a gnarled, lumpy bunched up mess that won't flatten out. Unfortunately, this is destined to be another piece of junk waste in a landfill somewhere :-( But, it does heat up, so I guess if you are in pain and have limited funds, this might be worth it.
