Don't waste your money.

Even though the kids edtion has a very limited music library they still expect people to pay for a family plan to use it and a normal echo at the same time. I have been a prime member for 10+ years. In the past year I have seen Amazon nose dive as far as basic, general common sense is concerned. Shipped a glass bottle in an envelope, Amazon logistics trying to drop off packages at my home at 3AM, hung up on by the outsourced call center rep when asking what the heck is going on at Amazon. Save yourself some headache, get something else.
My family loves the echo we have in our living room. When I saw the kids edition I immediately thought of my son. He loves music and being able to ask for exactly what he wants to hear. Here's the stinky part, we can only listen to one echo at a time or both listen to the same thing. I contacted Amazon; you have to have the devices on separate accounts and pay for family plan (additional $7.99 per month). I told the customer service rep that an Amazon account for a 7 year old is ridiculous. I was the told that that's the way it works. What a waste of money and poorly thought out execution of a decent idea.
