Should not have shipped - very poor quality
My mother has the same guitar - only a few years old and it works well. I bought this one for my daughter because she loves playing on the one at her Oma's more than her old Walmart guitar. The 3rd fret is raised too high, causing any notes played above to sound tinney - like a tin can phone. The finish has stains on the front, sharp edges (it drew blood on my forearm!), and places with no finish at all. Both guitars were made in China - but this one should have hit the reject pile. The holes where the tuning knobs are have chunks missing around them from splintering when the holes were drilled, frayed wood and splinters hang in the sound hole below the strings. I could live with the drips in the shellac, and could even sand it and recoat it - but I can't fix the fret which is not imbedded to the correct level in the neck.
