★★☆☆☆
You get what you pay for.
These tracks are compatible with the original Brio wooden trains and tracks, as well as the Thomas and Friends Wooden Railway, but are considerably less expensive than either. However, the quality is lower. Most of the track segments are perfectly fine, but many of them are not carved quite right, so that they're a bit hard to fit together and take apart. A few (about one out of every eight) are so badly carved that they won't fit together properly at all. Also, some of the track segments have obvious flaws in the wood which were patched with wood putty.
The biggest problem with this set was with the switch tracks: instead of getting two of each type (in order to split the tracks apart and bring them back together) as shown in the picture on the product page, the set we received contained four switch tracks of the same type, which renders them all useless. Amazon Customer Support's only solution was to box the whole set up and send it in for a refund; this was not a viable option, since this was a Christmas present and the kids were already playing with it daily.
If it weren't for the mis-packed switch tracks, I'd give this at least three stars, maybe even four. Despite all of the quality problems, these tracks are still a good value: if you were to throw out all of the pieces which are too badly carved to use, the average price per remaining piece would still be quite a bit lower than the price per piece for the more expensive brands. Unfortunately, the lack of switch tracks limits the kids to building single-loop tracks, which significantly reduces the overall value of this set.
