Rovio is now synonymous with sell-out.
So, after hearing all the "hype" about this game, I decided to test it out
Overall, it's design is somewhat cute, as angry birds has been known for. However, this is probably it's only strong point. Where do I begin with this?
•After 5 races, your bird gets "tired" and cannot race any more. Very annoying feature. However, if you are impatient, Rovio has generously offered to allow an instant recovery for a few gems (which you can conveniently buy with real money)
•As a racing game, it is very bland. Imagine Mario Kart, now take away all the tracks but a few, and remove the random powerup system. Doesn't sound like it'd be too fun now, does it?
•OH MY GOD THESE SHOULDN'T EVEN BE CONSIDERED MICROTRANSACTIONS. Listen up, 2 of the carts in this game (which have poor base stats. Don't worry though, you can fully upgrade them with coins you can buy) cost just under 50 dollars. You read this right. FIFTY. DOLLARS. Let's put this into perspective. That's about half the average family's weekly grocery bill is. If you're a gamer, that is equivalent to one full, brand new game. You are paying that much FOR ONE CART. SERIOUSLY. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS.
I give it 1 star because 0 isn't an option.
