Let me start by saying I wish I could give this negative stars. I am a certified Veterinary Assistant and have worked with animals 15 years. I know what I am talking about. However I made the mistake of not reading enough negative reviews, the one specifically that spoke about the flavor being off which caused their pet to stop drinking water completely. I bought this in hopes it would work as well as the PetLab brand. This one is 1/6 the price and has the same ingredients in the same order, almost. There is two ingredients that are switched places in order. My Dad uses PetLab for his two Bichons and he is happy with it. I can not afford it so I tried this one. I have a 14 year old- healthy and happy chihuahua aside from her Grade 4 dental disease. Throughout her life I have paid for her to get a dental at least once a year and that his saved her from getting heart disease. This year I The first year I am concerned about putting her under anesthesia because I know her eight remaining teeth need to come out and that will be a lot of healing after the large surgery. I hoped she would have the same results of success that my dad‘s dogs have but for 1/6 the price. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. Day 2 I noticed good results. Her breath normally makes me gag and all of a sudden she had no bad breath. I was so hopefully and excited. Day 3 she STOPPED DRINKING WATER. Day 4 NO WATER. Day 5 NO WATER. I panicked and paid for a full emergency visit for her to get fluids. EXPENSIVE! It is two weeks later and she still WILL DRINK NO WATER. I have tried to use different bowls, put them in different places in the house, tried adding small amount of chicken broth. SHE WILL NOT DRINK ANY WATER. Thankfully i have the ability to add a lot of water to her food. I use Farmers Dog , which is AMAZING and has helped her feel good. This is not enough water and I have yet another vet visit in two days to get more fluids. Her mental health and energy have declined. Buying this and giving it to my dog has been the single WORST DECISION I HAVE MADE FOR HER IN HER ENTIRE 14 YEARS OF LIFE. The amount of money I have had to spend I could have bough sooo many PetLab bottles by this point. UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO RISK YOUR PETS HEALTH DO NOT BUY THIS! Don’t make the same mistake I did.
