Ridiculously overpriced and inconvenient
This is one of the very few times where I opted to buy a product direct from the manufacturer's website instead of here on Amazon. My reason for doing this was that I wanted the free extra bonus bundles of blades that were not offered by Amazon at the time of purchase.
I purchased this item believing that I could replace my food processor and my nutrient extractor bullet as well as being able to create healthy and nutritious vegetable noodle dishes, ribbon lasagna and all the cool stuff they showed on the commercial.
I was very disappointed to find out that there is no chopping/mixing blade available for this product so I still need my food processor.
Also, this unit cannot replace my nutrient extractor bullet because the cups are not interchangeable and a larger cup is not available for this unit.
More disappointing is the fact that the blades that come with this are all the same color, and are marked "2c for spiralizing" making it impossible to know which blade I am using until I use it thereby wasting food if I don't get the desired effect.
It would have been smart of the company to Better Label the blades curly fries, large spiralizer, angel hair spiralizer etc.)or to at least color the plastic differently so the consumer knows which blade they're using.
Another disappointment is that the Salad Shooter attachment blows food all over the kitchen. Now I did not purchase the additional bowl because I felt it should have been included with the unit and it was just another cash grab. So I don't know if using their specially fitted Bowl would alleviate this problem but I think using the biggest bowl I can find should be enough to keep the food from traveling all over my kitchen. ( especially that damn cauliflower rice!)
To be honest I don't really understand the purpose of the Salad Shooter attachment, it would be more convenient if like my old $20 food processor all of my perfectly sliced vegetables layered neatly in One Bowl. But this unit forces you to do slicing in the sloppy Salad Shooter Bowl, and all your ribbon and spiralizing and fancy cutting to be done in a different bowl.
I'm just trying to get through one meal and I wind up having to clean several blades, several bowls several times and completely cleaning my entire kitchen from all the food that shoots everywhere. This in my opinion is not only inconvenient it's just poor design.
For me to wholeheartedly recommend this product they need to go back to the drawing board and do the following:
1. Redesign the blades so that they all fit Within the enclosed Bowl structure. Making the Salad Shooter an optional attachment for whomever may find this feature convenient.
2. Relabel or recolor the plastic of each blade so the consumer can quickly identify which cut they are using.
3. Redesign the Salad Shooter spout to prevent food from flying all over the kitchen when in use.
4. Provide the option of purchasing larger capacity blender cups, or redesign it's so you can you use blender cups from other nutrient extractor bullet products we already own.
5. It would be nice if there was some sort of a case, stand or rack to house the Dangerously sharp blade attachments. Oh yes there have been a few accidents reaching into the drawer, or reaching into a sink full of sudsy water and blindly slicing your fingers.
6. It would be nice if there was a chopping blade so we can replace our food processors from our counters.
7. At least one bowl should be included in the package. And it would be nice if that bowl also had a lid.
8. It would also be nice if there were different colors available so we can match our kitchen.
At this point you might be wondering if I have anything nice to say about this product. I do.
It does make attractive food slices and makes nutritious food more interesting to children or adults who don't like vegetables. But honestly, all the hassle just isn't worth it. I say wait for the next Generation to come out when hopefully they will have improved their design adding more convenience to the whole process.
UPDATE
After using this product for over a week, I've just now noticed that there is a buildup of food particles trapped within the clear Central spindle piece of each blade that I am unable to clean.
I have tried washing by hand using scrub brushes, running them several times through the dishwasher and I've even tried taking the blade apart without success.
Now that I know there is dangerous bacteria building up in my food processor I will no longer be using it.
