Comparison of the Pill Mill and the Equadose Pill Grinder
I bought both the Pill Mill and the Equadose Pill Grinder with the intention that I would return the one I liked least. I'm returning the Pill Mill because there are some key things that I prefer about the Equadose.
First of all, the Equadose crusher has a much larger grinding mechanism that will grind my large Calcium supplements (without cutting them first). With the Pill Mill my large tablets just spin around and around without dropping down and grinding. In the Pill Mill instructions they state that many tablets may need to be cut up before they are ground. This is an extra step I don't want to have to take.
In addition, many of the parts of the Pill mill are metal. The instructions state "Please pay attention to dry all parts very well, to prevent the risk of rusting." This makes me wonder about the Pill Mill's longevity . I suppose that parts could break on the Equadose grinder as well. However, their instructions state " Your grinder is fully serviceable. We keep a stock of replacement parts. Just let us know what you need and we will get you back up and running." They also give contact information on the Equadose instructions. The Pill Mill offers no contact information or guarantees.
As a side note I also like the catch jar better for the Equadose. It comes with a lid so I can take it places.
Overall if you need to grind large tablets regularly, I would look at buying another grinder. I've attached some photos to help you make your own comparisons.
