I had high expectation for this product. It is very solid, strong construction, and will last many years. However, it is rusting like crazy. In the outer to large "wheels" that keep the hose inside there are small holes (see picture). Not sure why there are small holes here, but whatever the case is humidity gets inside there and rust out the inside of the wheel. So rust continually runs out. It took a few weeks for this to start. At first it wasn't much, and I thought maybe it is coming from somewhere else. At 2 months it just pools in the base of the unit. Now I have a nice orange stain growing on my driveway. I contacted the company who stated "I'm sorry for the issues you are having with your reel. If you are wanting a refund, you will need to contact Amazon. We send replacement parts only." When I looked at Amazon's website I was outside the 1 month warranty. I also notice that Amazon no longer sells this product directly. What I ended up doing was letting the unit dry out for a few days, and then taking waterproof tape and covering up the holes. For the time being this is working well. Only time will tell what will happen next and how long this unit will actually last. Please see my pictures for rust examples and what I did with tape. Update: After another few months my amazing waterproof tape job failed miserably. I will attach a pic of the pile of rust juice. I actually found an old hose holder in someone's trash pile, and it is going to work just fine. I am going to give this thing away to someone who can mount it over dirt. Then the rust won't stain the driveway.
