Worst Shoe Rack in the World!
First, I’d like to preface my review by stating I’m an Amazon Prime customer who purchases something on this site at least once a week. Having said that, I don’t leave reviews for every purchase I make but in this case I felt compelled to leave a review.
Simply put this item deserves ZERO stars! I’m surprised Amazon, a company I highly respect, would brand such a poorly made product with their name (Amazon Basics). The issues I had with this carelessly made shoe rack are numerous and include the following:
Leveling Feet. None of the four leveling would screw fully into the frame. A couple screwed-in half-way and the other two would barely make two turns. The leveling feet appear to be bent coupled with the fact the female threaded insert weren’t welded straight. How can I possibly use this rack if the thing can’t even be adjusted to sit level.
Damage Shelf. One of the three shelves had a very noticeable dent in the front edge. For a brand new item, the manufacturer clearly didn’t care to check the quality before shipping to Amazon.
Bent Shelf. One of the other shelves (not the dented one referenced above) had a clear bend/curve to it.
Warped Shelf Clips. This quality issue makes the item almost impossible to put together. The hard black plastic clips fit into the sides of the shelves, two on each side. Every single clip was warped (curved inwards) making it impossible to snap the shelves onto the sides of the frame. I almost cut myself trying to pry the clips straight with a screw driver. After about 15 frustrating minutes I gave up.
I’m absolutely awestruck that Amazon would sell such a poorly designed and made product. I find it ironic and fishy that the only other two reviews for this item are five stars and not “confirmed purchases”.
Avoid this shoe rack at all cost. There are plenty of better quality shoe racks available on this site. I’ll be returning this one and buying one of those.
