Have to return this double rod because the extension rod is placed in the center (see pictures). Wish I knew this before purchasing. If you need the extension part of this rod, it is placed in the middle so that no matter what, you will be looking at two different size rods right in the middle of the window. It's a bad design. The extension rod transition should be placed at the right or left end so that the curtain panels cover it at all times...even while open. With this design, the curtains have to be closed at all times in order to hide the extension part. It's ridiculous to have a foot or more area that is a thinner rod right in the center. No designer or decorator would use this rod. It's just wrong! So disappointed that this was overlooked in the design phase.
