Not non-toxic; contains lead
The product description for these floor mats boasts that they’re non-toxic, but that’s not accurate. When I received these floor mats, the packaging featured a strong CA Proposition 65 warning, stating that this product contains LEAD and other toxic chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, etc. Plus, the packaging states that the mats are made of PVC (toxic), not EVA (non-toxic). Over time, PVC products can shed dust, especially when exposed to to heat and other elements commonly found in cars. (I imagine that the scraping and scuffing that floor mats take on a daily basis will only speed up the shedding). Dust containing lead, phthalates and other toxic chemicals is definitely not something I want my family inhaling or ingesting, so these mats are being returned.
