Loved it until they took my stamp printing freedom away
As a printer the 450 Turbo works well at generating labels of all sizes for me. As a way to print postage at home it was very convenient and one of the main reasons I purchased the machine. The Dymo/Endica software change currently going into effect makes the Dymo Printable Postage software require an activation code to print postage. This is an outrageous change because the only way to get an activation code is to purchase a new roll of Dymo/Endica stamp labels thereby precluding people from using 3d party labels. When I bought the printer there was no mention of such restrictions, now if I want to use my printer for the functions that were advertised at the time of purchase, I have to jump through Dymo's hoops and pay them a monopoly price for labels. I've used all kinds of labels in this machine, Dymo's and 3d party labels. All of them have worked equally well. I think it is outrageous that they are holding the stamp printing function hostage by forcing people to buy their products. I freely concede that this would not be outrageous behavior by Dymo/Endica if they had always had this requirement and all purchasers spent their money knowing that this was how things were going to work. It is, however, morally wrong to make a unilateral retroactive change to the deal their customers agreed to by purchasing their products. With this change, Dymo/Endica is killing all the goodwill they built up by having nice products and alienating their formerly fanatical customers.
