I have had the smaller version of this Presto Electric Skillet and have liked it but it's size was limiting so I ordered this larger skillet. After trying to use it several times, I've gone back to my smaller, older skillet. This skillet only seems to cook on the outside perimeter; the center, and about half of the skillet overall, barely cooks anything. It's useless; trying to fry bacon is impossible with the uneven cooking temperatures. About the only thing this skillet is useful for is stir frying; trying to cook any type of meat, poultry, etc. is a disaster not to mention kind of risky health wise, when only part of the skillet is cooking at the temperature setting. Looking at the underside of the skillet you can see that the heating elements only go along the outside perimeter with no element through the middle. After the experiences we have had trying to use this skillet it's clear those elements are not powerful enough to heat through the entire skillet surface.
