I have bought the same kind of Hanes underwear for years now. I love “boy shorts” because they are comfortable and cute (and don’t look like granny panties). I couldn’t find them at Target where I’ve usually bought them and with staying home as much as possible (thanks Covid), I tried to find them on good ol Amazon. They *say* Hanes...not only the plastic wrapped packing but also the “tag less” inner tag. They appeared to be the “boy shorts” I’ve always have bought before. On unpacking them however, the difference was immediate. The original Hanes (darker grey pair on top of image), have a dual seam in the front forming a type of inverted triangle panel for comfort (aka, no camel toe). The other “Hanes” have a single seam which can lead to an uncomfortable front side wedgie. The original Hanes is apparently a cotton blend...a soft t-shirt material that holds its shape around a curvy area. The other “Hanes” is a thicker, rougher type of cotton that loses its shape after wearing a few hours. And, this part I find strange, but the back coverage seems smaller (or perhaps the same) size as the front. I don’t have a whole lot of junk in my trunk, but I do have enough to feel like there wasn’t enough material to cover. If I pulled the waistline up, my cheeks were hanging out (I’m not in my 20’s anymore so this isn’t a good look for me), and if I adjusted so my cheeks were covered, the waistband gave me a plumbers look without even bending. Lastly (and I could go on but this post is already too long), is the sizing. I got a 7 (large). My originals are a 6. Again, you can see in the image, the size 6 (original Hanes) pictured above are noticeably larger than the other “Hanes”, size 7, below it. Oh, yes...and the elastic waistband is pretty cheap (actually the whole construction is) and does not have Hanes printed on it like the original does. So...not sure what happened here. I’ll go to “Hanes.com” or something and ask them what the heck happened. I can’t recommend these if you’re used to a pair of comfy Hanes....these are definitely imposters.
