This also isn't going to be a popular position, but I have to say that Ree's biggest talent is for self-promotion....nothing exceptional about the recipes here, and as other reviewers have noted, nothing you couldn't pick up on the blog. Perhaps it's because I have training as a chef, but I find the heavy photography a major distraction (always skip right over that stuff on the cooking part of her blog, too) and think it's a matter of bulking the book up because at base, it lacks much in the way of substance.
