I have other Breville products, and love them. They are reliable and well built. I got this coffee maker for my boyfriend for his birthday. At first it was okay, a bit tricky to set up, but once going, the coffee was great and day to day running was easy. Then is started to become a major pain. The coffee maker will just stop, in the middle of brewing a pot, and demand to be cleaned. There is no warning that cleaning is coming due, the maker just refuses to brew until it is cleaned. This would happen every 3 weeks, with the hardness set on 3, and he only brews a half pot a day! When he tries to reset the water hardness (by the way, it gives you no hint anywhere what number is harder or softer), it demands to be "flushed", but then gives constant "unit too hot" errors. He unplugs it for an hour, and it still does this. I have no idea what is wrong with this thing, if it is defective or just ridiculously fussy. All i know is his Bunn worked flawlessly for 6 years, and this thing has been annoying him since month one! Buyer beware. This is NOT Breville's best product in my opinion.
