Have never brought a pitchfork that broke. I am a baby boomer, meaning older, and the first time I used this it broke in half. I mention the age because I am not exactly strong. If it broke in half if I used it, I can only imagine if someone stronger used it and the bottom went flying and hurt someone. This could definitely cause major damage, the manufacturer should definitely up their liability coverage, and I strongly suggest no one purchase this item.
