I purchased these bags to pack away a bunch of seasonal linens and clothing. I suppose I fell for the quantity/variety for the price, but I wasn't really sure what sizes I needed and so the assortment was very attractive. Yesterday I packed up a bunch of linens: pillows, comforters, blankets and vacuumed them down to a solid brick and packed them in 30 gallon plastic bins to put away in the closet. I didn't quite finish last night and so left a few things bagged, but not packed away. By the morning, the vacuum was lost and my linens had expanded back to their original volume. And not just one or two, but every bag. I checked the stuff that was packed away and sure enough, when I opened the lids of the storage bins, the linens popped out as they had expanded as well. I really thought about returning them, but I really don't feel like unpacking everything and the vacuum packing did get the volume of stuff small enough to get into the bins and get the lids secured. As long as I don't open the lids, I think my stuff will be safe. But in the long run, if I wasn't putting the bags in something else and only needing their volume-reduction temporarily, they would have been a total waste. I'm giving them two stars because people often don't read the lowest and highest scores and I want people to know that these bags leak and not to expect them to hold their vacuum for any length of time.
