Inconsistent weight displayed by 3 lbs (Customer service confirmed)
I purchased this product with great hopes but found that when I use the machine (after recalibration and replacing the batteries as well) that the weight shown fluctuates by 3 lbs. This is not .3, but 3 lbs. I contacted customer service and the response I got is pasted below where they clearly state that the measurements will be off by 3 lbs. I don't see the point of a weighing scale if it will show a difference of 3 lbs and claims to be a precision instrument. Don't get me wrong, I would have been okay with measurements off by a pound, but 3lbs is just bad. Save your money -
The scale is a sensitive weighing device and can pick up small movements such as oxygen flow, blood circulation, and we do not stand with the weight positioned the same way every time.
Please initialize scale each time prior to use to ensure accuracy. To initialize the scale you apply pressure with one foot just until it powers on, once it powers on take your foot off and wait for the scale to power off. When it powers off it is ready to use. The first weight scale provides after initializing the scale, is the most accurate.
The scale was designed to provide readings +/- 2 lbs for weight 0-200 lbs & everything above 200 lbs the accuracy is +/- 1% of the weight being applied. For example if your true weight is 170 lbs the scale can provide readings anywhere 169.3 - 171.7 lbs. it can read 169.3 on the first reading, followed by 170, followed by 170.5 followed by 171.1 .. etc. as the scale was designed to measure weight with a+/-2 lbs or +/- 1% tolerance.
Best practice is to try to place your feet in same position every time you weigh yourself. Stand still during measurement.
Weigh yourself without clothing whenever possible. Clothes can vary in weight.
Move the scale to a location where it won't be bumped. If your scale is bumped while being activated or while in use, an inaccurate reading may occur.
For the most consistent readings, weigh yourself at the same time of day. Allow for weight fluctuations due to food or drink in your system.
Although your scale is designed to be maintenance-free, it contains sensitive electronic parts. Avoid rough treatment. Do not drop, kick, or jump on it. Treat it with care to ensure the best performance.
