No defects when it arrived. Post review after using it: I’m editing my rating from 5 to 1 simply because after wearing one pair for hiking at Yellowstone national park last weekend, these pair started to stretch and it became loose and did not hold its form. It is not warm enough for temperatures below 40 degrees. For those looking for reliable hiking socks, Ascend Merino wool socks from Cabela’s is my best bet.
