Garbage
Serves me right buying these right away. I had the First Generation PXC550 and was very happy with it, but I was interested in a BT5-compatible headset for more range and better quality sound. These came out and I figured if they were as good as the first version then I'd be very happy.
Unfortunately it's been a disaster from day one.
I guess first of all, it's baffling that they use a MicroUSB port in this day and age. Get with the times, USB-C has been out for years now.
But on top of that, they just plain don't work right. And every day it's something new.
Every once in a while they will begin to emit an ear-piercing shrill noise when noise cancellation is on. It's so loud it actually hurt my ears. It lasts for hours, until you just shut them off and go to sleep, then it's gone in the morning. But it comes back every once in a while, about once a week.
Then it just plain doesn't connect to things sometimes. I have to turn it off, wait 10 minutes, turn it back on again, and it works. I paid a lot for these and I expect them to work EVERY TIME I use them. Not only sometimes.
On other occasions, the headphones keep pausing playback. I'm not even touching the earpad, and it just pauses once every 2-3 seconds. Then it unpauses. I sit here in disbelief getting more and more annoyed by this. Once again, you have to shut them off, wait overnight, and then they work again in the morning.
And the final straw hit me tonight. I'm just done with these, completely. I'm trying to listen to music while I work, and it connects to my phone, and then 5 seconds later the music gets paused, and then they refuse to play any more sound again. My phone says its connected. My headphones say they're connected. I get 5 seconds of sound and it stops, never to work again, until I shut them off and reconnect 5 minutes later.
Given how much I paid for these, I can't believe how shoddy they are. What a complete waste of money. They do not work. I was previously a life-long customer of Sennheiser because of their utmost quality in sound products, but this experience has been so bad that I'm now looking at their competitors.
These things need a massive firmware fix before their even remotely usable. BUYER BEWARE.
