Do not buy this. If you get a lemon, you will not be able to return.
We buy basically everything from Amazon. We usually buy direct from them vs 3rd parties just in case we run into issues since Amazon's customer service is outstanding. We read about this new a/c unit, and thought we'd give it a shot. It's a brand new product with very few reviews to go by, so we were sort of crossing our fingers the manufacturer was legit. At the time we ordered the product was backordered for weeks... a good sign we thought. Demand seemed high. So we waited patiently for delivery and received ours today. Install was easy and the unit worked great... for about 10 minutes. Then we got a flashing error code EH 06. This code isn't in the manual. Or on the Midea website. Or the web seemingly at all. The manufacturer help line was closed, so we came to Amazon to read reviews. And sure enough it looks like there is a pattern with the few people who have received and reviewed their units. You either get a great one and it works flawlessly, or you get a lemon. We got the lemon clearly. But no worries, right? We bought from Amazon. They'd take care of us. Wrong. We started our return only to be asked to phone Amazon rather than print a shipping label. Once on the phone the Amazon rep tried to help us reset the unit. But the instructions the manufacturer gave Amazon were incorrect as well! When we still couldn't get the unit to work after our chat, I was ultimately told there wasn't an option for return of the unit due to the presence of hazardous material in the a/c. Um, so you can ship it to us, but not ship it back? So now we've been assured that the manufacturer will replace the unit. Nevermind that there are clear issues with this brand and product at this early juncture of their release. We have no idea how long it will take to receive a replacement while we sweat with no a/c over the weekend. All in all this is a disaster of a purchase and we'd strongly recommend you avoid ordering this and go with something with a real track record. (We never leave reviews, so consider this a flashing warning sign and friendly deed. We'd hate for anyone to end up in our situation.) Zero. Stars. Good job, high-dive Midea (and Amazon unfortunately). Edit: After discussing the issues with Amazon again they agreed to refund the purchase. Satisfied with the end result of not getting stuck with the purchase of a bad product, but wish there was better handling of the situation. We'd still recommend buying a product like this locally to avoid the stress of a worst case scenario.
