Once again taking a classic and injecting race and identity politics into it
Im not even one of these people that gets angry any time i see a racial component in a movie. But it does anger me when they take classics and redo them to cash in on identity politics. This is the kind of thing that only divides the country even further. Racism is real, its a problem in the world. We know this. But Hollywood cashing in (or amazon) by using race to interject into every single thing they put out only actually makes the problem worse because it angers more and more people. Instead of creating a completely new series, time and time again they take classics like the wonder years, now this and many more and interject a black component (like black people are the only other race in the US as well, has to feel weird to be asian or mexican and see black people who are a far smaller percent of the country being represented in much higher ratios) Its all just so stupid and silly.
