NOT NOISE-REDUCING, NOT ACTIVE NOISE-CANCELATION - STILL Misleading Advertising! Only on microphone!
ONE STAR REVIEW for the following reasons though I must admit, this product is not terrible. Misleading advertising upsets me to no end, though. Waste of my time! I was excited to purchase these at the fantastic price that everyone is clamoring about. All things said, they are decent for a pair of generic headphones. Far better than the stuff I grew up with. Not a terrible purchase but there are some things I have issues with. Complaints: NOT NOISE CANCELING. Let me clarify. These are not noise canceling headphones. The MICROPHONE is the only thing that cancels noise/vibration so that it is not transmitted to the receiver of a phone call. That's it. They do not actively cancel ambient noise, as on a plane or at the gym. The advertising is highly misleading. It took listening to them in various situations to get this impression and then combing through all the many excessively positive reviews to find this fact. Once again, THESE ARE NOT ACTIVE NOISE CANCELING HEADPHONES. MISLEADING ADVERTISING. This is why I purchased the headphones. I would not have purchased them otherwise. Comfortable - if you don't wear glasses. The overall feeling of cheapness. They feel cheap and plastic-y, especially the "multi-function" button on the side. A light touch or shake of the head makes a clicky/wobbly noise. I expect it to break like I have read on a couple reviews. The other buttons feel much more solid but are notably harder to press. The item was shipped in cheap, crushed packaging in a bubble-wrap envelope. Mine fortunately works. The sound is very decent. Right for the price point. To initiate pairing with the device, press and hold the multifunction button for 7 seconds, the status leds will blink alternating red/blue to let you know its working. EDIT: 9/9/13 As I am now painfully aware in hindsight, bluetooth is the solution to my headphone cable woes. I've been really enjoying the lack of a chord to cause budd or phones to get violently ripped off my head. Its great. It makes me excited for the possibilities that the future holds with regard to getting a better set of BT headphones... These have a dead spot. For whatever reason, if I'm standing and my iphone 5 is in my front left pocket... the headset doesn't get a good enough signal and starts garbling the sound. I'm 5'4" with an fit build... I've troubleshot the problem and its consistent. I would have figured these to have better range than I'm experiencing. We talking full battery, different surroundings, no other BT connected, and multiple fresh pairings. Limited BT. Once again. NOT ACTIVE NOISE CANCELING! EDIT: 2/13/2015 The seller seems to have finally made changes to their product advertisement, however the discerning customer will notice it is still a misleading title. "Noise-Reduction Stereo Headphone" in the title would seem to suggest that the noise reduction effect is somehow related to the headphone portion (speakers) of the device, which is certainly not true of this headphones. I would have no problem with product description if the seller simply moved "noise-reduction" to in front of "Mic." It has a noise-canceling, noise-reducing mic, sure... but that is not the same as active noise-cancellation which many of the reviews here think they have purchased. In response to individuals stating that you should just know these know these are not what they are advertised as just because of the price, you confuse me. As a consumer you should demand accuracy in the information fed to you by a seller. If this review has helped, please let me know.
