4 out of 4 completely inaccurate! Really?
I purchased four of these about a month ago and I got to say I am appalled at the amazing level of difference between all four of them, and not one reading correctly. I have several other older ones (from the 1980's) that are dead on and also a top level Fluke temperature probe that tells me the correct temp to the tenths. Yesterday, after gathering them all to test side by side I left them in the shed for several hours to level out, then at around 6pm (after sun down) and still inside my storage shed I measured with my Fluke probe exactly 40.7 degrees (also verified by a 30 year old alcohol based thermometer), yet one of these said it was 55, another said it was 48, another 45 and the last one said it was 44. Also, wow the readings only goes down to 15 degrees, umm really? My old 1980's Thermometer shows down to -40. I mean where in the heck in North America will it not some day get down below 15??? Oh, yeah southern Aridzona and Florida, excuse me I forgot. The humidity sensor is also WAY off, with one reading 55%, another was 50, 52 etc etc. Not a single one of the four agrees with another. Absolutely horrible horrible waste of money and resources IMO.
It is clear that we just do not make stuff as good as we used to. I am throwing all of them into the trash. Thanks Springfield for taking my money and not giving me a solid properly working product. Back to searching for a working product I guess.
EDIT: I would just like to add, unless you buy more than one you probably will not realize just how bad some of these are. I am sure they probably make a few here and there that work properly, however I got FOUR bad ones which is plenty enough for me to not try again, lol. A single unit even 5 degrees off and you would never know unless you had something to compare it to. Having four side by side, not to mention other probes etc, is what gave these away. So, think twice before dropping money on these. If you do not care if these are wrong and you just want something to give you a general idea of temps or humidity, then by all means the construction seemed Ok IMO.
