Overpriced low quality bag stuffed with mostly useless junk.
Currently priced at $129.99, through some pricing error it was temporarily priced at about $28.00. At that price, it's a fair but not great bargain. At $129.99 it's an unbelievable ripoff. I pity whatever military is issued this kit. The case is thin, low quality nylon fabric with single stitched seams and plastic zippers, worth maybe ten bucks tops in and of itself. It has backpack type straps, a fabric handle and the case unfolds into three sections with two pockets each that are about 12" x 6" x 4". Most of the space is taken up by fluff items like large bandages and is organized to bulk out the pockets rather than to any logical plan. The "320" item count includes each individual band aid and there are enough of those to last a lifetime. There are some moderately useful items like individual packs of antiseptic wipes, antibiotic ointment and acetaminophen tablets. Also included are a stethoscope, sutures with hemostats, a scalpel handle with two disposable blades, a roll up splint, some cheap-assed trauma shears, cheap plastic tweezers and, oh yes, a 6 oz bottle of calamine lotion along with some cheap miscellaneous items I couldn't be bothered to list. The latex exam gloves reminded my of how most places stopped using them due to latex allergies. No eye protection or face masks to be seen.
This kit is neither a first quality kit for advanced trauma care nor even a really competent home first aid kit for bumps, bruises, cuts and scrapes. They could at least included a bottle of povidone iodine to wash wounds. Instead there about four wipes. At best, consider it a starting point for building a better kit but even so, one could find far better quality empty bags which you could fill with better quality medical supplies for far less than $130. Thank God I got mine for $28 because otherwise I'd be pissed as hell.
Edit: Found them on alibaba.com: these kits cost a buck fifty to two fifty per thousand. Nice markup.
