Unfulfilling Fluff
This book came highly recommended by a woman I respect. I bought it, thinking it would be a game-changer and it would help me better focus my attention on my goals. I was disappointed. Turns out, this book lacks substance. It was full of "you go, girl" quips and anecdotes, but nothing of real meaning. It was just "fluff" mixed in with a TON of that annoying humble-bragging that fills social media. A few of the most irritating parts of the book looked like this: "Some women want to be stay at home moms, and that's great! I, however, could never do that. I started a huge company worth millions of dollars! I'm too crazy to stay at home raising my kids!" I barely made it halfway through before I realized this book was not offering me any real, meaningful insight and I was just wasting my time. I didn't want to give up on a book (I'm sure you all know what I mean, when you can't leave a book unfinished?) so I skimmed ahead and became convinced the second half of the book was just more of that pointless "you can do it, look at everything I'VE done!" crap. If you're a soccer mom with "Live, Laugh, Love"-type decals and quotes all over your home and Pinterest board, this book is for you. If you don't fit that description, don't bother - there are many, MANY other books out there that can help you direct your focus on becoming a better version of yourself (think Game Changers by Dave Aspry, for example).
