I bought this extinguisher a few years back and finally had a chance to use it as a i had a huge BBQ grease fire get out of control within seconds. I went to grab this extinguisher, pulled the pin, aimed and a literal puff of smoke came out! I thought I did something wrong, my wife stared to panic, so I picked up some dirt from near by and started throwing it on the fire, my wife then ran and got a bag of baking powder we had and that was able to douse the flames. In the aftermath, I started doing some research to see if I did something wrong, only to find out this extinguisher has BEEN RECALLED YEARS AGO! for this exact reason thats affected MILLIONS of these extinguishers! NOT ONCE did I get a notification from KIDDE OR AMAZON about this recall. I reported the incident to kidde and I didn't get a refund, a replacement or even an apology for that matter. I will never buy or trust such a shady company again, now imagine their fire alarms you all have in your house?!?! also, SHAME ON AMAZON for not notifying all the customers who bought these extinguishers through their site and to continue to let this company do business on their site, truly despicable. I expect more from Amazon.
