I loved this mattress pad for 12 months, so I am sad to send this back this week. It warms wonderfully and kept us toasty and happy in our bed. However, we just noticed that the wires attached to the mattress pad were exposed on my husbands side. The wrapped part of the wire was hot to touch and had actually created began to blacken the wrapped wire and plug, which is located inches from my husband's head each night. My side looked brand new. This product has so many positive reviews, that I just couldn't pass up this chance to ask everyone who already has one, or decides to purchase anyway, to PLEASE CHECK the connections for your safety. I tend to purchase these items when I see such overwhelmingly positive reviews, so I'm asking everyone to check connections and be careful. I will go ahead and try the other mattress heating pads here on amazon next.
