Update; do not buy from this seller. If you give a one star rating, he'll be harassing you via e-mail, called my home phone several times from a 382 area code, raided my LinkedIn account, now he's e-mailing my friends. Why does Amazon allow this kind of behavior and give out my personal information to sellers?! I don't have TIME to experiment with non-working products, and not going to alter key phone settings just to satisfy one product when it works just fine right now with everything else.
I made a big mistake and bought 2 of these cameras. Here are the problems;
One camera will not reconnect to my phone, no matter what. At first it did, now it disappeared from the list with the "Camera not found" message. Now I have a useless brick glued to my windshield.
When initially setting it up, the DDPai App insist on access to "Make and manage phone calls" (picture attached). Why would a car DVR need that?! If you deny access, the App freezes and you are forced to reinstall the App. I wish Amazon would force suppliers to disclose App access requirements in the description so customers can make an informed purchase ahead of time.
The camera does not have GPS, ...but the App wants access to your phone's location. Again, why? There is no trip recording in the software.
The software and the camera lacks even the most basic adjustments, like brightness.
If you're unfortunate enough to get into a car accident, and want to quickly replay the last few minutes of the recording via Wi-Fi for the police, good luck with that, not going to happen.
