I have a degree in Computer Information Systems and I could not get this drive to work properly. It lasted long enough to register it and then failed. I ran seatools on it and it failed test. Windows7 would not read drive and light on drive just kept blinking. Could not format or fix with seatools. I looked up Seagate support and forums and they know of problem and have not fixed it. They are blaming the OS on the problem. Maybe they should get with the program and make their product work with the OS. Update to review, thank God; I bought through Amazon and promptly got a refund after returning product. They had UPS pick it up and paid for return postage. Here is an update: I ended up getting a WD Passport and it is still working and I have had no problems with it.I bought it in August and now it is November. Update to review it is year 2015 and WD Passport still working. Yes support tried to help me after I wrote bad review. Where were they when I contacted their support directly to get replacement?
