Don't waste your money on a dubious product
A 1 pound bag of grass seed sold with ridiculous claims about the root depth should be avoided. The depth of the grass roots has to do with deep and infrequent watering, not with the type of grass they include in the seed mix. Another clue that the product claims are inflated is when you try to Google a review of "grassology" you'll find a lot of fake reviews (testimonials) in the results making it difficult to get a true reading on the product. (Hopefully this will change quickly, as more people complain about the product). The shipping weight is apparently misrepresented on the ad, it doesn't weigh 22 pounds. It is a 1 pound bag of grass seed and a box (it might weigh 2.2 pounds when shipped?). Howard Garrett, the Dirt Doctor (organic gardening guru from North Texas) looked into the product and found it is a fescue and Kentucky bluegrass mix that he concludes would only survive in northern lawns - so ignore the claims that the seed mix is for anywhere. The product may be distributed by a large manufacturer of grass seed (Pearl's in the name). $26 for a pound of this hyped up grass seed? You can buy a 50-pound bag of Kentucky blue grass seed at Home Depot for $60. Save your money and buy a good grade of grass adapted to your area and water responsibly. Less frequent deeper watering will allow the roots to grow deep and resist drought or hot spells (just don't plant Bermuda grass - that is the worst weed in the garden! If you're in an area where Bermuda will grow, try buffalo grass instead.)
