This is NOT the Otterbox killer! **Updated**
****Please see update at the bottom.**** Spigen, way to hit a home run. I have been a faithful Otterbox case user for sometime. When I saw this on Amazon while searching through literally hundreds of cases, this one sang to me. I received my Spigen Tough Armor case today in the mail. Unexpectedly, the stick-on home buttons and screen protectors were a bonus. Well packaged and well received. Ship time was quick considering and excluding the known wait time of the advertised release date. Now to the case. Great job with keeping it slim. I have had Defender and Commuter cases alike, and this is wailing on them. The case is very nice in the hand, not overbearing, and keeps the iPhone slim like its supposed to be. The face is opened up like it's not in a case, yet the lip keeps a bumper extended far enough out to lay it on its face. The interchangeable plate on the back is a nice touch for added protection. Also, I immediately checked the piece that connects between the home button and battery charge (a known breaking point on iPhone cases), good job. Thick yet pliable to flex. I will not be test dropping this on purpose as I am not that dedicated to jack up my phone. I do trust that the air pocket design you have designed on the corners will work. Otterbox has a serious design flaw in their rubber 1st layer. My Commuter I WAS using was starting to expand. The battery and flap wouldn't stay closed, and drove me crazy. I would rather not have it, if it were going to fail. The internal crisscross design and material you have used will surely stand up under age. The buttons are flawless. Power, volume up and down work so well. I am the guy that spends hours researching, reading reviews, and watching videos before buying. Spigen, this is why I am writing a full evaluation. I am not a review writing person, I don't have time. However, I have made time to tell others, ditch the junk from Otterbox and check this sleek, sturdy, well-designed case out. Albeit this is brand new, and I promise if I have to eat my words I WILL be back and retract my previous assessment, I think I am going to be A-OK with this case. You have a new customer Spigen. I take my brand dedication very serious. I hope you take your customer service equally. I foresee many more coming to you. ******Update 11/1/2014: As every product deserves a fair trial and chance, the quality has definitely taken a downward turn. I have experienced not only the white shell, but the gold and now having moved on to an LG G3, a slate colored case and everyone have terrible shell paint on them. The white which this review was written on stayed pretty resilient just not as noticeable as deeper colors. The gold within 30 days proved to be far less resilient showing major handling marks on the paint. As I recently upgraded to an LG G3, I stayed loyal as I remarked earlier and again, after only 6 weeks of handling the paint is beginning to wear off terribly. The use of my phone is pretty much pocket to desk. I also see now the warranty is only 90 days and only against manufacturers defects. Previously it was 2 years vs. Otterbox's lifetime. I have used the lifetime for Otterbox and it's pretty darn easy. In the end, I am sad that Spigen has not taken care of this issue, as I have also read in several other forums other's experience this same issue of light paint and severe fading. I have lowered this review from 5 to 2 stars and moving on to seek out a better brand. Please note, drop protection seems average against Otterbox as I have dropped mine in a normal capacity of 3 feet from pocket to floor and no damage. Hence 2 stars left for review. The major difference? Color molded in plastic (Otterbox) and painted (Spigen).****** ****Update 11/11/14**** Customer service for Spigen is horrid! I emailed and waited 5 days before I was contacted and this only after trying to email them from their website, Amazon, Facebook, called (they have no call in customer service) and finally had to file a grievance with Amazon. When they did contact me, one reply said no warranty applies (I am within the 90 days and I this was the initial 1st reply from them) and the other stated send pics. In the end, Amazon returned and (they are superior and Spigen could take a note) and was charged a restocking fee of 10%. Gladly! Junk, I went back to Otterbox Symmetry and it is awesome. It is their new design and It is one piece now so no silicone bulge. STAY AWAY FROM SPIGEN.
