Returning. I couldn't believe that the illustration for D "daring" is a boy stealing a kiss from a girl who isn't looking at him and isn't showing interest in or consent to being kissed. Really, in 2018, this is what we want to define as a daring action---stealing a kiss? This smacks of a "boys will be boys" mentality that we should not be describing as daring. How about daring being an image of a kid standing up for another kid being bullied? Or a kid daring to learn how to ski? I don't mean to be overly critical, but parents and schools are working hard to teach kids to respect each other's bodies and personal space. To ask permission before touching. We know better, so we should do better. The rest of the illustrations are appropriate and beautiful and the book would be an excellent springboard to discussing feelings. However, I'm returning the book.
