I am very careful and scientific about standing at the recommended distance and logging the session times to avoid burns, so I can confidently say if you want to use this lamp to tan it is a complete waste of money and time. I don’t know what many other reviewers are talking about, I never got burned, not even a little pink, and certainly no tanning has occurred even with double maximum exposure time (30 min, two times turning knob to 15 min max). I’ve had plenty of experience with tanning salons so I know that I can tan easily, and my skin is very white right now so there’s no base tan to interfere. I really wish it worked, but it just doesn’t do anything at all. Sperti seems to have very helpful customer service and they are allowing me to return it, but they won’t pay for return shipping and this thing is big, heavy, and fragile so the shipping set me back $110! Do yourself a favor and avoid this money pit.
