MIGHT KILL YOUR CAT!!
Both cats took to the Breeze system very quickly. After some months, though, Skittles began eating the (already peed on) pellets occasionally. Alarmed (and disgusted), I called Tidy Cat and spoke with one of their "pet specialists," who assured me not only that the pellets were non-toxic, but that they would break down and pass through his system and would not cause him any harm. Relying on that, I tried to stop him whenever I caught him doing it, but didn't worry too much about it; he didn't seem to be ingesting more than a few a day. Long story short: some months later he developed a bowel blockage that ended up killing him (and costing me over $3,000 in vet bills). The x-rays showed that his bowels were completely blocked by about 50 or more UNDISSOLVED Breeze pellets. Turns out Tidy Cat's "specialist" didn't know what she was talking about! That said, I like the Breeze system for my surviving cat (who does NOT eat the pellets), EXCEPT as follows: broken pellets get stuck in the grid of the flow-thru tray and I'm afraid to try to clean it in my laundry tub for fear of clogging the drain. I've asked Tidy Cat how to safely clean the Breeze tray but have rec'd no response to my REPEATED INQUIRIES. Apparently they don't have a solution for this problem.
