I have never experienced so much shoulder, neck, and joint pain as I have since I got this thing. I've had pain all the way down to my fingers because of the pressure this mattress topper exerts on my joints. I have broad shoulders for a woman my size, so I need a soft mattress topper because my shoulder gets squished and my neck gets strained if I sleep on something that my shoulders can't sink into while I lay on my side. This thing is 1.5" of memory foam and 2.5" of "high density foam". It's pretty much equivalent to that cheap egg crate foam that people used to use on their beds. It's hard as a rock. I might as well have gotten a 1.5" topper and only paid half of what I did for this thing.
