Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I Bought this to replace an smoke detectors that had died. Most importantly with safety and products - its critical to know who made the product so there is a level of comfort on product quality based on reputation. I purchased a branded First Alert smoke detector, as in the product photo and received a generic, unbranded detector as many others have mentioned in other reviews. Who made it? First Alert or some random schmoe from Sammys Sloppy Smoke Detector Company? I don't know and either does Amazon- which is why i'm returning it. But it gets better- smoke detectors are non returnable by Amazon. So in stuck with a smoke detector of unknown manufacturer and reliability. awesome.
