I used it on a junk mail that has a semi shiny paper. (1st pic) (1) i dropped water on it and wiped it with a toilet paper and the ink came off (2) I can still read the words that it covers I used it on a crossword puzzle page that has a recycled paper material and absorbs ink very well (2nd pic). I went over it once (top piece) and i can read the words. I went over it 2-3 times (bottom piece) and i could clearly read the words that was on the page with no problem at all. its not completely useless, I would still use it but i'd shred the paper after lmao
