The only 'Ordeal' was watching a complete change from the original story!
If you have never read the Agatha Christie story before, or indeed any of her books/movies before, you will probably enjoy this story. It is, indeed, a Gothic tale. The acting and the settings are quite good. What upsets me so much is that it in no way tells the story written by Agatha Christie! Characters are different, the murderer is different, etc. I'll never understand why, if a book is found to be so good that it must be made into a movie, it must be completely changed! I grew up reading Agatha Christie books and I must've read each of her books 20+ times. I have found very few of the movies made from these books to be loyal to the actual story.
