I purchased this from the Apple Store, not my favorite drop and shop, but unlike Amazon they had one in stock. Mine is for a 3rd gen Ipad Pro 2565gb. This is only available in one color-the grey. I wanted something which would allow me to speed up my meeting process instead of unplugging my my Surface Laptop or Surface Pro, and taking either into a meeting. Sadly, this is not it. It attaches to the iPad through magnets, much like all of Apple products. Yet the magnet is weak and through general use the iPad WILL become detached from the iPad. Not on a hard surface, but more on your lap which causes more stress on the back. Or if you are trying to adjust the iPad into one of the 2 available angle spots. There is no protection whatsoever. Drop your iPad and expect the iPad to crack, bend, or both. This offers zero protection to the iPad, and because the magnets are weak, expect the iPad to easily become detached when you least expect it. And these iPad Pro 12.9's are $$$. The keys? Wow, Apple, could you have used smaller keys? There is so much room there for larger keys. The keys are not quiet, noisier than I had hoped, far louder than the real keyboard on my Surface products, but they do appear durable-so far. Now the good: So far any battery usage is good, but then the iPad Pro is good on battery life. Slim design, as it should be since there is no protection. It is also lightweight. The virtual keyboard on the iPad Pro is far better than the tiny keyboard of smaller iPads. IOS offers number buttons at the top with the 12.9”. So, you have to ask if you really need a physical keyboard. It does fold up nicely, even with a glass screen protector though the magnet does not stick with confidence. Overall, this is a $40 keyboard that Apple is charging $200 for. I am likely going to return this and wait until a quality aftermarket keyboard is released, perhaps even back-lit, which this isn't. I am no Apple puppet fanboy, so anything Apple produces does not garner an automatic love from me. And this product definitely does not impress, and there is no justification for the extra cost over the older model, even with the Apple tax.
